AI game mashups
In late September 2026, modders started using AI coding agents to put one game inside another: Minecraft inside Skyrim, Skate 3's skating inside Modern Warfare 2, Mario inside Elden Ring. Drop onto a skateboard mid-firefight, kickflip over cover for a KICKFLIP KILL, and dig or blast through a block quarry. A browser tribute to the 2010 Rust Rewrite Mashup.
Block City
Steal cars, outrun a five-star wanted level, then dig in, build walls across the street or blow it all up with TNT. A browser tribute to the Minecraft-in-GTA V mods.

What is an AI game mashup?
An AI game mashup combines the mechanics, and often the worlds, of two or more games into one playable thing, built largely by an AI coding agent. Three techniques dominate:
- Passthrough mods run both games at once and link them through shared memory. SkyCraft is the classic.
- Rust engine rewrites rebuild a game's engine from scratch so it can be merged with others, as in the 2010 Rust Rewrite Mashup.
- Character imports run one game's character inside another, like Mario in Elden Ring.
All three read data from games you own. A fourth approach, the clean-room mashup, rebuilds the feel of each game from scratch with original code and art. That's what makes it legal to host and instant to play in a browser, and it's how GameMash is made.
